New terms of use
of Google Analytics for
users in Europe
Do you use Google Analytics?
Then you need to become active. Google Analytics has changed its terms of use as of 30.04.2021.
What is changing with Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is changing its headquarters and as of this date is no longer Google USA, but Google Ireland. You can find Google’s terms of use at:
https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/de/
And why is that important?
First of all, if you do not use Google Analytics, there is no need for action. But if you do, you need to adjust your privacy policy. To do this, you need to replace Google USA with Google Ireland everywhere in your privacy policy.
The completely new address is then: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
You should also complete a confirmation for the new use on your Google account for your contract. You will find the relevant information on your Google account.
What does this mean for data protection?
Actually, not much changes, as Google’s headquarters remain in the US and data transfer continues. So the use remains critical.
